Plant your easel for pleinair in the gardens of the Muskoka Lakes Museum, located in the James Bartleman Island Park in Port Carling. We will meet at 9:00 AM and paint til 12:00 noon
. Group photo at 11:50 AM.
Artists are welcome to tour the museum afterwards (optional). A small admission fee applies.

A plethora of water views on all sides of the Museum building await at this island location. Public washrooms are nearby on the grounds.



WHAT TO BRING: Chairs, an easel and painting surface. There are many shady options at this location, but sunscreen or hat always a good idea. Pack bug spray as mosquitoes are still a factor in Muskoka with all the recent rain.
COLOUR SUGGESTIONS: Sap green, gold, ultramarine blue and bismuth yellow.
GETTING THERE: Port Carling is located on the Indian River between Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka. Take Hwy #118 to Port Carling. Google Maps Link Free Parking is available in the town in various lots. Pack light and count on a short walk from your vehicle into the park along the paved path to the Museum. Public washroom is available at the entrance of the Island Park.
