July 22 – Bala in Bloom

July is a month for vibrant colour if we follow nature’s lead. Bala is in Bloom thanks to the hard work of local volunteers. Time to pull out your canvass and focus on contrasting hues, intensity and values. We will park on the Bala Falls Road across from the KEE to Bala. Paint flowers in one of the displays, or pick up a building in the background for a cool composition.

Meet at 9:00 AM and paint until noon. No RSVP required. All welcome – new and experienced artists. Following the session, we can go to lunch together on the patio at the nearby Bala Pub.

WHAT TO BRING: A chair, and your own art supplies. If you are new to art or visiting the area – the Muskoka Emporium Liquidation Centre, 3065 Hwy #169 near the Bala Bay hotel has sketchbooks, pencils, paint and canvas boards and other art supplies.

PARKING: Ample free parking available on Bala Falls Road across from Kee to Bala or large lot on Hwy 169 (Muskoka Road) across from Bala Hydro plant and entrance to Hwy #38. Public washroom available near Canadian flagpole on Bala Falls Road.

GETTING THERE: Take Hwy #169 (Muskoka Road) to Bala. Meet in front of the Kee to Bala to start. Walking or driving through to Purk’s Place and the old Bala Stone Church is limited in one direction. Follow new road sign: Do Not Enter and go around to south side. Google Maps Link Here.
